The Farmhouse

Over a century ago, Minnesota pioneers built this sturdy, brick farmhouse on the prairie with love, hope and an eye to the future and generations to come. Today The Farmhouse continues to be at the heart of Prairie Oaks Institute and provides meeting and sleeping space for up to 14.  Three bedrooms upstairs are adjacent to two modern bathrooms with showers. Downstairs 2 large rooms provide space for conversation and meetings. A full eat-in kitchen provides the ability to prepare snacks or full meals.  The east porch looks over the 3-acre organic garden and provides another unique meeting space for small groups.

The Granarythegranary

With a great screen porch open to the prairie breezes, The Granary provides a welcoming respite from the everyday world. Perched on the bluff on the adjacent Devine farm, visitors enjoy a treetop view of the ravine that is home to Robert Creek.  A labyrinth mowed into the restored prairie is a place for walking contemplation and reflection. A picnic table and fire pit provide space for al fresco meals and evening campfires. The large screen porch can seat 30 for meetings and presentations.  The Granary is a three-season facility with no running water or electricty; a portable toilet is available.
